mental help
RESOURCES I’VE FOUND HELPFUL ALONG THE WAY:
SUICIDE HOTLINE (click HERE or call 988 in the USA) - if you’re having thoughts of harming yourself, you can call these folks ANY TIME and they will talk with you. It’s free.
REDDIT “STOP DRINKING” FORUM (click HERE) - I’ve found this online community to be incredibly helpful for those struggling with alcohol addiction/dependence. It’s like online AA, where you can post questions, read success stories of encouragement, and get a virtual badge to track your sober days.
ANNIE GRACE’S “THIS NAKED MIND” BOOK - (click HERE) - This book helped change my perspective on what alcohol was actually doing to/for mind and body. I used booze to self medicate my anxiety and depression, but learned that it was actually making things worse over time. A fascinating read, even if you’re a moderate drinker.
CELEBRATE RECOVERY - (click HERE) - A Christian recovery group that very likely has meetings close to where you live. Check out their website to see what it’s all about. There’s also a Celebrate Pastor’s Recovery (CPR) you can check out HERE.
